Google, Apple ID and email are all available. Whichever you choose, your characters and chat history sync seamlessly across web, iOS and Android.
Yes. We recommend Character.AI for users 13 and older, subject to local law. Younger users should only sign up with a parent or guardian after reading our privacy policy together.
Head to Contact Support and submit an appeal that includes your registered email and the approximate lockout time. We respond within 24 hours on business days.
02Pricing & Subscription
Free accounts can browse the entire public catalogue, build their own characters and use group chats and scenes. There's a generous daily message allowance that covers most casual use.
Faster replies, longer memory windows, higher daily limits, early access to new models and family or team plans for shared use.
Open Settings → Subscription and tap "Cancel". You'll keep premium features until the end of the current billing cycle, then your account reverts to the free tier with all chats preserved.

03Characters & Conversations
More than 10 million public characters as of 2026, with thousands added every day. Filter by popularity, category, language or creator to find your match.
Every character keeps a long-term context that grows as you talk. Free accounts get roughly a 20,000-character window; subscribers get significantly more.
After signing in, tap Create in the top-right corner and fill in a name, greeting, persona description and a few example messages. See the User Guide for a step-by-step walkthrough.
Yes. Group chats let you bring several characters into the same conversation so they can react to you — and to each other — for richer roleplay scenes.
04Privacy & Safety
By default every chat is private to you and never shown publicly. Read our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of how we handle data.
You can opt out at any time under Settings → Privacy. Once disabled, your private conversations are excluded from any model-training pipeline.
Use Settings → Account → Delete account. We permanently remove your characters and chats within 30 days; you can sign in during that grace period to undo the request.
Tap ⋯ → Report on any character page or message. Our trust and safety team reviews reports within 48 hours and may suspend accounts that violate our rules.
05Mobile & Sync
Yes — search "Character.AI" on the App Store or Google Play. Conversations sync automatically with the web, so you can switch devices without losing context.
Absolutely. Use the same account on phone, tablet and desktop simultaneously — every message stays in sync in real time.
Check your connection, switch off any VPN, and update to the latest app version. If the issue persists, send us a log via Feedback.
Not yet. Conversations rely on cloud-hosted models, so an internet connection is required. A lightweight offline mode is on the roadmap.
